The Home Builders Association of West Florida
The HBA employs a professional staff of four, and has 50 members serving on its Board of Directors, which elects the association's eight Senior Officers and helps set the association’s agenda.
Consumer-oriented events such as the Parade of Homes and Home and Product Expo are always fun-filled affairs that bring awareness to the housing industry. The Parade of Homes enables the public to view the latest amenities and new home designs. The popular Home & Product Expo, which is one of the largest tradeshows in Northwest Florida, attracts thousands of attendees each year.
To serve segments of the membership, the Auxiliary Council, Remodelors Council, Custom Builders Council and the new Green Building Council gives members an opportunity to get involved with community service projects or learn more from continuing educational programs.
The HBA is more than building communities. It's being part of the community. Whether it's donating clothing and gifts to the children at the Lakeview Center, donating time and materials to build a gazebo at a local elementary school, or painting the home of senior citizens, HBA members are active in their neighborhoods and generously share their knowledge, skill, time and money with their neighbors. For many years, the HBA has given back to the community by taking an active role in projects that help to better the lives of children and people in need. The HBA was recognized by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) in celebrating National Philanthropy Day as Outstanding Charitable Organization.
The HBA was also was honored with a Children’s Champions Award on behalf of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Northwest Florida, Community Drug & Alcohol Council, Children’s Home Society of Florida, Children’s Services Center, Gulf Coast Kid’s House, Junior Achievement, Northwest Florida Comprehensive Services for Children, and the United Way/Success by 6 for making a difference in the lives of children in the community.
